On an article I posted, there was a request in the comments to write a post on how to map your subdomain to a DigitalOcean droplet. Well, here we are:
Once you create a DigitalOcean droplet, you will have an IP for that droplet. Now here\’s the magic trick on what you have to do to get it done.
For GoDaddy:
On the page of the domain which you would like to map, scroll to the bottom where you will find

Click on Manage DNS which would result in

Now click on Add which will show

In the host, the Type should be an A record. The host is your subdomain and Points to is the IP Address of the droplet it would map to.
For other Domain Name providers, the steps are similar. The only difference would be the place where you would find the Manage DNS button.
Thank you.
